Merit’s New Chief Wellness Officer Is Dedicated to Fostering Employee Health and Happiness Worldwide

“If we can create an environment where people love coming to work and feel good at work and at home, then we will create an environment that allows us to continue to grow and to produce high-quality medical products for the world.”—Nicole Priest, MD

We recently sat down with Dr. Nicole Priest, the newest addition to Merit’s executive team as Chief Wellness Officer, to learn about her vision for creating health and happiness for Merit employees.

Since 2016, Dr. Priest has served as the physician at the Merit Care Clinic, the on-site employee clinic at the company’s headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT. During her tenure, Dr. Priest has implemented various employee health initiatives, including the 90-Day Wellness Challenge, a Diabetic Support Group, and ongoing wellness talks to help educate employees on healthy practices.

In her new role as Chief Wellness Officer, Dr. Priest will continue to lead these programs, as well as pilot new ones at Merit facilities around the globe. She lists expanding health education topics, developing more opportunities for convenient and quality employee healthcare, and creating healthier Merit Café menus as a few of her top priorities.
