Merit Medical Announces Educational Initiative and Product Launches for CIRSE 2018 Congress

Merit will introduce the Q50® PLUS Stent Graft Balloon Catheter and Osseoflex® SB Steerable and Straight Balloons in Europe during the meeting.

LISBON, Portugal – September 22, 2018 – Merit Medical Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MMSI), a leading manufacturer and marketer of proprietary disposable devices used in interventional, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, particularly in cardiology, radiology, oncology, critical care and endoscopy, announces education initiatives and activities for the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) Congress being held in Lisbon, Portugal, 22-25 September.

Educating clinicians remains a prominent focus for Merit. During the CIRSE Congress, Merit will host a full schedule of Meet the Experts lectures and presentations at its Merit Education Experience Centre, located at Booth #49.

The faculty leading the Meet the Experts presentations will cover a broad range of topics, including updates on the latest science in Prostate Artery Embolization (PAE), use of steerable catheters, the latest innovations in bone biopsy systems, and performing neurointerventions via radial and distal radial access. A full schedule for Meet the Experts at the Merit Education Experience Centre is provided below.

During the meeting, Merit will also introduce to Europe the Q50® PLUS Stent Graft Balloon Catheter, a versatile balloon catheter that is ideal for abdominal and thoracic EVAR procedures, and the Osseoflex® SB Steerable and Straight Balloons, a family of inflatable bone tamps for vertebral augmentation or kyphoplasty.

Merit products will be featured during three Hands-on Device Training sessions organized by CIRSE. Sessions held Monday, September 24 9:30 – 11:00 and 12:30 – 14:00 in Auditorium 3 will focus on the use of radiofrequency for tumour ablation; sessions held Monday, September 24 9:30 – 11:00 and 12:30 – 14:00 in Room 5.D will discuss vertebral augmentation; and sessions held Tuesday, September 25 9:30

  • 11:00 and 12:30 – 14:00 in Room 5.C will feature particulate agent use in embolisation
