Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Baseline Year: 2020 (Scope 1 + 2); 2023 (Scope 3) |
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations. |
All emissions are calculated using an operational control boundary, in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol corporate standard (“GHG Protocol”) and are inclusive of UK operations for Merit Medical.
Merit Medical’s required Scope 3 categories were first calculated in 2023, resulting in a different baseline year than Scope 1 and 2.
Merit Medical’s baseline emissions have been updated from its original 2023 report to reflect changes it has made to its reporting system. In 2024, Merit Medical moved to a software system to track and calculate its scope emissions which has resulted in some discrepancies from previously reported baseline emissions.
