Comment fonctionne SAVI Brachy ?

SAVI Brachy - Étape 1 - Mise en place

PLACEMENT

L'applicateur SAVI Brachy est délicatement inséré en position fermée dans la cavité tumorale par une petite incision, une procédure généralement effectuée au cabinet du médecin.

SAVI Brachy - Étape 2 - Extension

EXPANSION

Les cathéters sont délicatement dilatés pour se conformer à la forme de la cavité. Cela se fait une seule fois, au début du traitement.

SAVI Brachy - Étape 3 - Livraison de rayonnement

RAYONNEMENT

Une fois le cathéter en place, un radio-oncologue administre le traitement deux fois par jour pendant 2 à 5 jours. Les extrémités des cathéters sont reliées à un système informatisé qui délivre sans douleur une minuscule graine radioactive dans chaque tube. La source de rayonnement est complètement retirée après chaque traitement - aucun rayonnement ne reste dans le corps entre les traitements.

SAVI Brachy - Étape 4 - Retrait

RETRAIT

Après la dernière radiothérapie, le médecin ferme le dispositif et le retire par la même incision par laquelle il a été inséré à l'origine.

Objectifs et buts

Objectif principal:
Toxicité à 2 ans

  • Objectif : < 10 % de taux de toxicité grave* (Grade 3 ou supérieur)
  • Résultats : Grade 3 N = 3 (1.5 %) N=11 limite supérieure 

Objectifs secondaires :
Cosmétique à 2 ans.

  • Objectif : > 80 % bon/excellent
  • Résultats : 97.25 % bons/excellents

Contrôle local à 3 ans :

  • Objectif : ≤ 5 % de récurrence
  • Résultats : 1 % (contrôle local 99 %)

Conclusions rapportées

La curiethérapie mammaire ultracourte est dosimétriquement faisable et peut être délivrée avec une excellente tolérance à court terme et une faible toxicité.
